Setting up NETGEAR Nighthawk Mobile Hotspot Router (Mr1110)

This Nighthawk M1 4G LTE Mobile Router has the firmware replaced with the latest generic version without the AT&T restrictions and branding.

IMPORTANT: If your unit blinks red and blue and won’t turn on
This just means the battery is too low to start up yet. It’s not broken!
Simply plug it in and wait 10–15 minutes. Once it has charged enough, you’ll be able to turn it on normally by pressing the power button. The flashing red/blue lights are normal for a fully drained battery.

To ensure LTE connection, you’ll need to add the APN for your service provider:

1) Connect to your mobile router. The SSID should start with ATT-WIFI. Press the power button to cycle through the screens to find the passwords for 2.4 and 5 GHz.

2) Go to ADVANCED SETTINGS → CELLULAR

3) In APN, click ADD

4) Fill in APN Name and APN, and click ADD. See below for APN values to use. APN Name can be anything.

5) The new APN should be Active by default. If not, select it to be active

6) Turn off/on to reconnect to LTE (it will only connect to 3G after changing the APN for the first time).

These are APNs for the most common carriers. Check https://apn.how/ca for other APNS.
